We know how this feels. The exhaustion. The frustration. The sense that something is deeply wrong.
You’re not alone and you’re not imagining it.
50 protests, 50 states, 1 day started as an idea born on r/50501 that spread across the country in days. No budget. No official backing. No centralized leadership. Just people stepping up because waiting wasn’t an option. So we didn’t.
On February 5th, we made it real. 50501 raised its voice. Over 80 peaceful protests, thousands of people in the streets, refusing to let democracy be dismantled in silence.
And the we showed up again on February 17th. No Kings Day. Tens of thousands showed up again, making it clear this wasn’t a fluke. This wasn’t just one protest. This was the start of something bigger. The message is clear: Democracy is not up for sale.
This is about Trump, Musk, and the architects of Project 2025. Executive orders are reshaping government to consolidate control. An unelected billionaire now holds influence over public policy. Project 2025 lays out a plan to dismantle democracy for good. Immigration policies are tightening. Civil liberties are under attack. LGBTQ+ protections are being erased. Something new. Something awful for our country seems to be happening every day. So now is the time to stand up to uphold the Constitution, not watch it be rewritten to serve those at the top.
50501 is peaceful, but not passive. The protests have been covered by every major media outlet, proving that when people show up, the world pays attention.
And we will keep showing up.
But how we show up matters. Peace is not just a principle; it’s our strength. It’s what keeps this movement growing. NO hate. NO violence. Lack of peace and professionalism will finish us before we’ve even begun. Those in power want an excuse to silence us. We won’t give it to them. No one can do this alone. But together? Together, our peace is power.
50501 is built on one simple truth… Democracy belongs to ALL OF US. People from different backgrounds, different beliefs, all standing together because no government should exist to serve only the powerful. Power should be held accountable. Rights should not be up for debate and leadership should answer to the people, not the other way around.
50501 is happening. In Chicago. In every state. In every city where people refuse to stay silent. You just have to decide if you’re in. And we hope to see you soon.
